Apes with too tall of risers?

Im running 13" apes on 5" risers on my street bob. I tightened the piss out of the risers and caps but cant seem to keep the risers from walking around to save my life. Considered slugging the bushings out with washers or something. Has anyone had this problem or know of a cheap easy fix?

you have to have one piece riser top plate, that joints both risers together, that will make the packet firm.

Also something to look for is, are the bars knurled at the point of contact with the risers?

I’m a believer in the top plate on taller risers with apes.

Never had any problems with any of mine.

I also do believe shorter risers belong on taller apes if you got the bucks for the job.
If not, like me you make do.

Replace plastic bushings with metal bushings.

I was afraid of the top plate answer, kinda had it in the back of my head. Thanks none the less. My current risers dont work with one though and im laid off and broke. The knurling is good, riser bolts would break before I actaully got the bars to move Back and forth. Gonna give a metal bushing( aka washers) at least on the bottom side a shot and maybe both sides. The Rubber makes nice on long trips though. Hopefully The bastards will quit twisting around.

You really need poly bushings. ~$10 online.

The rubber bushings are too soft and will allow the bars/risers to flex.

Poly bushings! On it, thanks

Poly bushings, get rid of the tall riser, ape should always sit low imao :D
