In northern Ca most Dyna / Sporty riders will ride the full face, while the baggers, and softail crew will roll with the half helmets. Then there are the ones that I would consider club style baggers that roll with the full face.


Up here, no one gives a chit, just do your own thing.

 

I can't do the half shells - I have a fat head and most of them don't fit/look ridiculous on me. Tried the 3/4, I wouldn't use them for any long distance riding. Love my full-face (some Bell model, don't remember the exact one). Long distance rides I like to be able to listen to some tunes, hear my phone's GPS, etc. Not too bulky and the wind noise isn't bad. It's seen better days though, will probably be replacing it soon.

no sir, i put it on the flat bed withe the bike. almost kicked myself when the claims rep asked about it... but, it was still with the bike today when they declared it a total loss.

 

I have a pile of helmets. But I did ride without one many times while living in AK for years.

These threads are taboo on every bike forum. SafetySaurus jumps on everyone's jock, and the man from NoHelmetville gets lambasted by CheapHelmetGuy.

I try not to post in them. That said; around town I wear a HD half helmet, and on long trips I have a Scorpion Modular FF I picked up. Momma has a CF HD half for around town, and loves her Shoei with the butterflies for road trips.

Anyone interested in large Shoei RFs in colorful colors, I will make you the deal of a lifetime. I just can't make them work with a black Lowrider
