Tire time
Need to start gathering info (and some coins) to replace my OE tires before a 1000+ mile trip in May. Original Michelin Scorchers have 8500 miles on them now (4/32 tread remaining) , but by the time May rolls around I'll need to have them changed. I've been looking into the Metzler ME 880's, and was wondering how you guys like them.
Thanks |

Thanks Love them, way better traction than stock, I hear they hold up longer as well. Time will tell |
During my search for info, I just became aware of a different Michelin tire to fit my 2010 FXDC. Anyone know anything about the Commander II?

I don't know anything about Michelins but I'm getting ready to replace my 2nd Metzeler rear tire. I got 8500 miles out of the rear both times. My front has over 17000 on it, still has some tread but I'm going to go ahead and change it.

I just replaced my rubber with Metzler 880s about 3000 miles ago. I love them. They look and ride great. Sorry I don't have more info on durability, this is my first set.

I have an Avon Venom on the front and a Metzler 880 on the back. I think both brands are top notch. For me it was more finding the cheapest vendor for either brand than anything else. www.bikebandit.com had them on sale so thats who I bought from.

OK, here we go. Been on Metzlers for many years on various machines. Best wet weather grip, period. I've tried them all.

I had metzlers on my sporty and loved them will put them on my Wide Glide when it is ready for new rubber.
Great wet weather traction and they seem to hook up better than the donflops. |
I had pretty much decided to go with the Metzlers until I became aware of the Michelin Commander. Oddly enough I can get a pair of Michelins shipped in for $247 as opposed to $291 for the Metzlers. Since I have a couple of months before I have to do something, I'm going to wait until there is a little more feedback on the Michelins before I decide. Thanks for the info guys.

They got good price on Jirehcycles too as for the best tire I can't tell I'm looking into it also. As far as my search are going avon got my pick but seing all the good comments on the metzeler I,ll recheck for sure.
