Default Rear rim for '12 Street Bob

Anyone have any insight as to whether this wheel would work for the rear of my '12 Street Bob. I know through doing research on the forum that I can use an 18 x 5.5 rim but I found this wheel and was wondering whether I could just use my stock hub with this wheel and mount it up to the bike. Any input would be great. Thanks.

itll work eventually but not without some pretty good modification to the rear of your bike

What kind of mods are you thinking about? There are multiple forum members who have fitted an 18 x 5.5 rim with a 180/55-18 tire with no modification whatsoever and no rubbing or fitment issues.

I'm not trying to put a 200 rear tire on the bike. I'm just going a tad wider with a 160 to a 180 tire with a slightly bigger rim.

I assumed the 200 since ur upgrading to the necessary rim. Even with the 180 I'm pretty sure you need some kind of wire relocation at the least. Maybe also some different hardware for the fender mounts to the struts....id appreciate if you'd let me know if u pull the trigger on the wheel - Im looking to up to a 200 when im done with my rear fender

you can go 180 no problem. Harley sells a "wide tire kit" for the 180, but it isn't neccesary in my opinion.

$140? Is that just for the hoop? Seems very cheap if it's the whole wheel. Part description is "wheel assembly", but what does that mean exactly?

Totally agree. A couple on here have gone up to 200 with no fender or strut issue but i know some wiring has had to be moved around or at least the bolts for the tail light and signals. And the bigger wheel itself may need new spacers (not sure if thats bc of the tire or the wheel though) anyhow check this thread out https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...treet-bob.html

I'm sure what "wheel assembly" means but I think I'm going to call and find out. The way I thought about doing this was to purchase the wheel then lace the spokes to my stock hub.
