The baby boomers/purists are stuck in their old school ways. So once the demographic of purchasers changes so will the line up of motors.
Harley needs to offer the v-rod motor in the dyna line, then the baggers. Give the buying public the option of a water cooled *** kicking motor,or the air cooled 103. Once the option is there people will make the MOCO's mind up.
And the EPA is going to get their noses in there too.
Personally if my dyna was available with the v-rod motor I certainly would have bought it that way. Save me thousands of dollars in engine upgrades.

I agree that Harley isn't going to transition to all water cooled bikes anytime soon but if they were to put a Vrod engine in an Ultra Classic, they would sell a lot of them to all those that are on the fence about buying a Harley.
But for right now there is too many of us that love the simplicity of the Harley engine and the sweet sound they make.
