Swing arm mounted fender

Swing arm mounted fender
Hello, I am new here, but often browsed around before becoming a member.
I have an 09 super glide, and I really want to chop the back fender. I reviewed all of the how to vids on youtube, and such, and have a full understanding of what to do. The only problem I am having is the look that I am trying to achieve, I see around the net rarely. Even worse I have not seen a how to vid, on how to achieve the look. Most people chop the back fender. but the seat still mounts to the fender, or buy a voodoo. The look I like the most, is the look of the rocket bobs fatbob, where the fender seems to be swing arm mounted, and there is a gap between the seat, and the fender. I was wondering if anyone knows what fender, he used and if there is a kit available for purchase to achieve the same look. I also noticed that there is a strut that supports the rear fender. Also, what seat is used. I have email rocket bobs, but have not gotten a response. If someone know how to or who could help me achieve the look I am going for. I know it sounds crazy, but some times i cant sleep at night thinking about it......Thanks

You have to take a pneumatic grinder (or could use an electric I suppose) with a cutoff wheel ... and cut off the struts that the rear fender is mounted to ...
Then the rear fender is usually mounted to the passenger footpeg mounting holes on the front of the swing arm ... of course the back part of the fender will need vertical supports ...
While I believe there may be a kit or two on the market ... a lot of those who have done it have gotten a fender blank and welded on tabs and the appropriate mounting points on the fender and swingarm ... it takes some skills ....
Oh ... you'll have to figure out what to do about the seat ... because the back of most seats feature a means of affixing it to the fender ...
Not saying you cannot do it ... but, depending on how handy you are, you may require professional intervention ....

I have talked to him a while ago, he fabricates the rear fender, definitely sick looking.
