So I installed the chrome engine kit on my 05 FXD and everything went well. It looks great! When I was cleaning up the take off parts, I noticed a steel sleeve (some sort of bushing for starter?) in the OUTER primary cover. I didn't notice before I installed the new chrome cover so I never checked to see if it was included on the new one.
I would rather not pull the primary cover to check but I will if I have to. Does anyone know if this "bushing" would have come installed in the new chrome cover? Maybe someone has one on the shelf waiting to be installed that they could check?
Hey joe. Thanks for the reply. It's not the guide pins, I can take a pic tonight, but it looks like some sort of bushing for when the starter engages. It's just above the derby cover and behind it...if that makes sense.
You need the jackshaft bushing in the outer primary on your bike
33446-94A (about 3 bucks), or you'll waste a bunch of stuff you didnt want to tear up.
Thanks. I figured I needed it, just wasn't sure if it would have come installed on the new cover. I'll have to pull it off and double check. I'd hate to screw things up.
It may be in there ..last one I put on it was already installed ..but if not ..bout three bucks ..put it in freezer over nite and take it out when you get ready to install it ...
