Default Crossbones rear rim on a WIDE Glide?

Ok, I'll been thinking about using a Crossbones rear wheel on my bike ( 2011 WG ). I like the fact that the Crossbones wheels is wider but still looks like my factory rims. My question is does anyone know what else is different besides the width of the rim? I'm trying to make a list of what all I need to purchase to make this work. Appreciate any information ...thanks

why not just get a matching cossbones sized hoop and spokes and have it laced to your hub?

Crossbones rear wheel is 17 X 6.00. The HDWheels website chart states that 5.50 is big as you can go with a 2011 Wide Glide without other modifications. http://www.hdwheels.com/Product.htm

The main issue is timel
.... I've never laced a rim before but I'm sure I could. I work 12 hours a day so I have to be careful not to waste too much time monkey n around and what a modification.

All you would need, is to get some spacers machined. Do a search on this forum, its been done before.

Did this work out? I would like to do this, so the crossbone rim is 17x6 instead of 17x4.5 my goal is to just get a 200 on the rear. I was thinking 18X5.5 or 6 would be better for tire selection.

I looked around and found way more tire options for the 18" rim over the 17". I plan on getting a chrome 18x5.75" rim to relace to stock hub. Also with the crossbone wheel you may have to get another axle and adjusters. I know my axle is 25mm vs 1".

I have a crossbones rim on mine... had to mill down the back of the pulley .250 and one of the spacers down .400 , also had to expand the struts .75 .. after that its cake

heres a great thread where I got all the info for my conversionhttps://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ds-w-pics.html
