2012 Street Bob Bars question
Hi all,
I'm thinking of fitting a pair of 14" Wild1 Chubby Outlawz bars to my 2012 Street Bob and wanted to know if it's just a straight swap or will I need to buy longer cables, lines etc? Gonna have to buy them from the states and get em shipped or ask the misses to bring em back as she travels to the US regularly. Anyone know a shop in Boston that sells em? Ride safe..... C |
The lines should be long enough, there is some extra sitting there from the stock set-up, i went to 19in total on my bob and still use the factory brake line, just had to go +6 on the cables

forum member robbie13 has them . hopefully he will chime in. I have the 12's and they were a straight swap over of all cables and wiring. I don't know if 14's would make a difference or not. BTW I LOVE the bars .. best bars I have ever had.

Any chance of posting some pics of your 12s fitted. I may choose to go with them.... Cheers. Ride safe! C |
Same one's I have. Everything's good. No changes. The throttle cables are a little snug when turned to left, but everything's fine.
|
Forgot to add that the forks need to be lowered down about 1/8" in the trees to allow the bars to fit.

I just added the Wild1 Chubby Outlawz 14"ers to my '07 FXDB last week, had to straighten the brake line, slightly bend the elbos on the throttle cables, wires and clutch cable were fine. I have some pics that I can post in the next day or so. I aboslutely love the bars!
|
sorry to be slow posting pics .. in addition to my dental surgery my camera has gone totally awol. Hopefully someone can post a pic of a 12 inch wild one chubby outlawz bar on a street bob. sorry I couldn't help out more. If I find the camera ill get after it.

Thats an awesome look. You might have just sold me on those as well...
|
SE the bike looks dope man. Did you get away with using the the stock cables or not?
|
i'm rockin the 14" outlawz and they are awesome bars! I think I went +2 or +4 on the throttle idle cables cuz they were tight and after straightening up the elbows on them like some guys are doing the throttle was sticking. Everything else fits great after bumping the forks down flush
|
would you call those narrow or wide bars? just wondering been looking at z bars and they have both and i like the fact they are the same width as the forks

Bars look the Dogs, Ordered some Outlawz the other week myself, as others have said, did you get away with all the same cables & electrical wires?
Just planning ready for mine! |
hey chap,
your street bob will have easily enough cable and wire length to do 12" bars. i did on mine when i installed a new set of burly 12". not the ones in the pic in my signature, gotta update that. |
