Default Considering Bassani 2-1 Exhaust

I just completed a 96" to 103" conversion and was considering ditching my 2-2 Reinhart staggered for a set of 2-1 Bassani's. I noticed that they have two types of 2-1: one the rear exhaust comes all the way forward and then loops around to the back, the second the rear exhaust only comes forward a little bit before turning back. I was wondering there is a big difference in performance between the two designs. Also, what kind of increase (or decrease) in loudness can I expect?

For best performance on a 2 into 1 I've heard you want the pipes to be as close to equal length as possible before they connect...

That's just what I've heard... take it for what it is, free advice.

I just installed a Road Rage 1D5250 on my Wide Glide. This is the short Meg version. Ther are quite a few 2-1 pipes that Bassani makes. This pipe has a nice low rumble. Great pipe. Go for it....

I like mine, but like I say 100 times on here, the fitment is not the best on earlier Dynas. I have read it is way better on the newer ones, I guess a drawback of making the pipe fit all years is that it will be worse on one generation of bikes vs the other

My pipe was pretty tight between the exhaust studs. Once I got it onto the studs I evenly tightened every thing up. Nice and slow and not to tight. After installing the pipe, air cleaner and the Xieds the bike became a different animal...

I installed the 5250's over the winter. No issues at all. I have an 07 bob. I say go for it!! I love the sound of my pipes. As far as a big difference between the two, I don't think there is. I think they are discontinuing one of the pipes cause when I ordered mine, they said it would take three weeks to make. So I ordered the 5250 and am happy. Just call Dr. Vtwin. They will hook u up. Great customer service and u get a decent discount too.

Is the Bassani better than the D and D Fatcat?

If there is a difference Id shoot for the one closest to equal length. On my 96 theres no bare-handing it when your checking the oil on a hot engine
