I had the fender removed on my sporty and I kept a bandana there all the time. I rode through a storm yesterday and the spray was right in my face. I don't really mind, if I know it's gonna rain, I'll wear a full face. In my 3/4 I just tie a bandana around my face, suck it up and keep rolling. A bandana on the forks will keep alot of it off, but not all.
I'm going to go the tuner route because I deffinately want cams later. I just got a set of cycleshack turn out slip ons and they sound great. I've got my eyes on a voodoo fender and getting the forks worked on by Traxxion dynamics here in GA first before anything else.
