May not be the best, but it's still very good & as long as you service your bike at the necessary intervals you won't have any oil related issues.
Same here!

I'm new to the forum but not to bikes. Oil is the subject of more differences of opinion than politics! It is fun to scroll through and watch the information fly.:-) I have seen and heard almost every combo of oils used, and I agree with anyone who says just make sure you keep up with your oil/filter changes and all will be well. I can't remember the exact quote but Cycle World had a research project a few years ago about oil and it was something like 0.08% engine oil failures in the test category, basically damn few failures occured when regular oil/filter changes were made...I am thrifty, my wife says "cheap", but I use regular oil for all except the tranny in which case I run gear oil, usually Rotella, but I can't say it's any better, but it doesn't break the bank for sure.

I'm a Redline x3 guy. Been using it since the first 3.5 inline 6 BMW motor I built (assembly lube and all) and it's never let me down.

Amsoil 20-50 in all three holes with a "Flo" reusable oil filter mounted on the left down tube of my Fat Bob.

Same as Yamaharley above for me

I went from fully synthetic back to dino as I find its a quieter engine. Change that oil every 2500 mies.
10w40 synthetic motorcycle oil in the primary and Shockproof pink goo in the transmission and change those once a year.

I'm not brand specific, just whatever is reasonably priced at the time.

Well, a necro thread is resurrected, so why not

Dyno in the engine for me; use synthetics and the top end sounds awful, even through ear plugs. Valvoline VR1 SAE 50 in the engine, Mobil 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 synthetic in the primary, JASO rated, and Mobil 1 75W-140 synthetic gear lube in the transmission. I've used Redline V-Twin transmission w/shockproof in the transmission but I like the Mobil 1 better.

Snicky smooth two finger pre-loaded upshifts and two finger rev-matched downshifts. Just keep that clutch pack and clutch cable freeplay adjusted

Change engine oil frequently, every 2 -2.5k, primary and transmission every other change...

I change all 3 every 6 months. Mileage be dammed! I don't have a speedometer so that's part of the problem.
