Default New rear tire: Michelin Commander II 150/80 B16

Got 11,702 miles out of my Dunlop K591 150/80 B16 rear tire in 24 months.

Today I had it replaced by a Michelin Commander II 150/80 B16.

Now lets see if Michelin's statement is correct "this tire is capable of covering up to 40,000 kilometres = 24,854 miles".

First impression: Although it's a 150 wide tire, the Commander II is not as wide as the Dunlop (see image)

Tire thread depth new: 11/32".

I'll keep you posted on the results!

I have the same tire on the rear of my Dyna. It was on the bike when I got it so I don;t know how many miles are really on it but I have put about 1500 on it so far. I guess I have a few years left on this tire. We'll see. I put on the front about 1000 miles ago.

I like it. A thin 150 but it sticks to the ground like glue. We'll see how long it lasts. Obviously it leaves the Dunlops in the dust even though it is made in Thailand.

I put a set on mine. I love them. They stick so much better than the Dunlop's rain or shine. And most of all they don't chase road snakes!
They do run thinner than the Dunlop's.

To early for me to be able tell you Chris.

Next Thursday I'll go out for a 2,000 km 4-days trip into the German Black Forest with 30 co-workers from NLD Army Staff HQ (see video link in my signature for the kind of roads we're gonna ride).

I probably will be able to give you some feed back once I got back on Monday June 25th. If you click this link, you'll find some decent/positive feed back in several threads on the Michelin Commander II.

Any tire that does not have tread that goes in the same direction of the grooves in the road will track will way better. Metzeler is similar in that respect.

BTW Rene, can you measure the actual width of the tire?
