Need Help Lacing 16 inch front wheel - Street Bob
Dropped my wheel off at local indy shop to have it laced up and trued.
16 x 3 inch front wheel - off of a Heritage Softail
2009 Dyna mid glide hub
Custom spokes cut by Buchanan Spokes for this application.
My indy is at a loss trying to lace the wheel, I even sent a close up of the same wheel that was done by a forum member here......
Is there a special lacing pattern, or should they be using the same lacing pattern as the original 19" wheel?
Thought about sending him the lacing instructions for a 48 Sportster front wheel, because it is the same size wheel and similar hub, but the 48 only has 36 spokes.........
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I got it figured out, the only deviation from the stock pattern is when installing the spokes into the hub. According to the manual: "Insert one short head spoke into any bottom flange hole and swing it clockwise. Insert a long head spoke in the next hole to the left of the short head spoke. Swing the long head spoke counterclockwise over the short head spoke. Find the hole in the upper flange directly above the two spokes just inserted. This hole uses a long head spoke." I had to use a short head spoke in this hole. Other than that just follow the directions in the manual for lacing a 19" wheel. Thanks to those that posted, as soon as I get the bike back together i'll try and post some pics(hopefully by this weekend).

I would think it might be closer to the lacing pattern of a 16 inch wheel. But then again, that might still be the same as the 19 incher. You could lace it yourself, take your time and take it to your Indie for trueing and mounting/balancing. I almost went this exact route on my kid's Nightster but eventually just put a Fat Bob front end on it.
