Hoping someone here might be able to help. Just bought a 2009 Street Bob. I was going down the highway at about 45 and the bike started sputtering and backfiring. After the backfire there would be a loss of power, then it would lurch foreword. Did that about 4 times then flat out shut off. Pulled off restarted the bike. Same scenario 2 more times. I stayed off the road. It starts up good. I replaced plugs, wires, cleaned and recharged the air filter. Any ideas on what it could be? The general consensus from friends is that it's a fuel issue. Any help would be awesome.
Check your screws on the battery terminal and make sure they are tight.
Last night I was cruising down the freeway and lost power about three times and then the bike shut off(little bit of a pucker moment since I had to use the old fashion hand signal and pray that the cagers' saw it). Finally got it home and had about a quarter turn to make them tight. Bike fired right up took it back out for the evening.
Ok, I'm new to bikes. I'm not sure what you mean by tuner. It has Sampson pipes and the fuel management system underneath the seat. I don't have an owners manual (I ordered it though) so I'm not sure where the vent is. I'll use the google machine on the interwebs to try and figure out where it is. Thanks guys
