looking for deeper sounding exhaust... geez
It's been a year, and I still haven't got my exhaust sounding the way I want.
I installed V&H Big Radius 2-2 a while back. The shorter pipes seem to have a lot of "noise" in them. I installed Big City Thunder Monster QQ baffles. That made it a little deeper, but still seemed to be a lot of high-end noise at idle. I cut the V&H baffles down and put a part of those back in.. but it was still too "noisy". I just don't like these pipes.
Right now when my bike is at idle, the sound is just too high-end. I want a deeper, throatier sound, even if that means it isn't as loud.
I've considered V&H Big Shots, but also considering going with something besides V&H. Anyone been in a similar situation? Recommendations?

Mine has a fairly deep rumble.. Xcept I don't think hooker makes pipes anymore.
Notnuts, did your v&h discolor at the middle of the muffler? And I like your sig, thats excactly what I love, my newst one is a springfield TRP a few months ago..

All good advice, but unless your in love with V&H I would suggest moving away from the whole vance and hines scenario all together. That pro pipe maystill be an option, I've never heard one in person, however IMO the best sounding pipes are BUB's and Reinhart's. Deeeep rumble and no uwanted noise + performance wise they are great pipes. There are better performing pipes, but for what more they give I'll stick to those.
Also it may be worth your while to check out supertrapp supermeg pipes. Great performance and with the open end cap they really get down and rumbly!
