Does anyone know off hand if a stock solid or slotted wheel from a late model Fatboy will bolt up to a late model, (2004) Dyna without any modifications? I've looked all over e-bay, but no one has part number so that they can be double checked on the HD website. Both wheels would be stock width, bearings, etc., just thinking that I like the look of a solid on the rear with a spoke or stocker on the front.

Only '00-'02 Fat Boy rear wheels will fit '00-'05 Dynas. You could also use the rear from a '00-'04 Sportster Custom, they were the slotted ones with the chrome rim.

 

Should be a straight forward swap.

 

I bolted a solid chrome fat-boy 16 inch rear to my 2001 FXDL with no problem. The wheel came with all bearings and spacer right from HD.

Why do only 00-02' Fatboy rears fit?

 

no the pulley bolt pattern is diff and the pulley is diff... (fatboy low rear wheel)

 

Here's an 02' Duece wheel on my 06 Dyna, Axle and bearings only change.
But its a 17" wheel, I think what your askin about is a 16" wheel.

 

I purchased a used '00-'04 Sporty custom solid rear rim on Ebay for my '01 wide glide. Has 3/4 bearings. Now I need to figure out the spacers, pully etc. What else is different? Anybody done this swap? I thought I couold re-use stock pully and rotor?

 

The late model Fat Boy bullet hole rear wheel is 17x6in. and has 8mm bearings. Took some work to use it on my '07 Street Bob.
