Help! My stock Wide Glide seat is rocking...

So I had HD install a solo springer seat prior to me picking up my 2012 Wide Glide. . . due to unfortunate events lately I threw my back out and my physical therapist said the hard seat might not be so hot for my back for a while. Well instead of not riding I tried to put the stock seat back on but found that it rocks approx 1/2-1" side to side right behind the battery box. I called HD and talked to a few service guys who said that's not normal. Anyone else have any experience with this? It appears that the tongue on the seat is almost too small for the groove under the tank thus giving it a lot of play.

I don't recall any issues with my WG stock seat, but I do recall having the same issue with a sportster solo seat. I placed a piece of foam or rubber around the toungue to take up the slop.

The tongue on my 2011 WG stock seat broke completely and it didn't have that much play. Though I did have saddle skirts installed that took up about an eighth inch of space between the seat and the frame. I probably put over 6000 miles on it with the seat tongue broke, unless you tried to lift the seat you never would have known.

Wow never heard of this but I wouldn't be riding it like that. The chances of anything go wrong with your chassis to f things up is slim, so the problem is in your seat.

Get yourself a new saddle!

Yes get yourself a nice comfortable seat with back support.
I don't like the plastic based HD seats.
I was shifting foward and back on my stock streetbob solo seat and went with a Dannygray solo butt crack big seat with good support.
Worth every penny of enjoyment.

Thank you all for the answers! I found out that it was the plastic that the rear metal tab which bolts it to the fender was warped. . . after some fidgeting me and a buddy were able to get it to sit somewhat tighter. Either way I'm thinking of saving up and ordering a Brawler seat and see how that suits my hind quarters.
