Super Glide Windshield Buffeting/Turbulence

Super Glide Windshield Buffeting/Turbulence
Anyone who uses a windshield on their Super Glide Custom, can you offer any advice on alterations or adjustments you made to deal with turbulence and buffeting?
I have the 18 Inch HD detachable windshield.
Buffeting and turbulence begins right around 60MPH. It progressivley becomes more severe as speed increases. At legal highway speeds of 65(70) the turbulence is bad enough to be a major concern. There is massive head buffeting and side-to-side oscilations. I experimented by trying to position my torso closer to the screen to try to find the envelope. I have to almost press my upper body against the windshield to get out of the vacuum zone and into turbulence-free zone. The air pocket stretches pretty far back.
Searching online, I have read that helmets can have a major impact. I have two helmets--Full Face and 3/4 with face shield. I noticed no discernable difference between the two but in both cases noticed that the buffeting is marginally better with the face shield down than up.
With the stock seat, the turbulence and buffeting is less severe, compared to the Mustang vintage wide touring seat. Obviously, the Mustang sits me a bit higher so this is understandable. In either case, however, it becomes a wild ride once I get up to 60.

Found that a tool roll bag hanging off lower tripe tree helps- maybe as much or not as much as Joe's touring baffle- keeps the road grit off the steering damper rods too. This guy had one of the better answers, if ya could deal with the look, he's no more, but maybe you could whomp up something like it at home:

all i did was get a stock damper, shave the L off the back where it mounts stock, and i think i cut it like 1 inch per side so that it would tuck in the trees and not rub my boots... form there found center... marked it... drilled a hole so i could use my headlight bolt to mount it into place... i have my turn signals under there so i was able to use my damper mount and some fender washers i powder coated in gloss black to space the air damper away... works great... i can snap some more pics of it when i get back to the house i rode my sport touring today
