Engine displacement question
Dont really know how to word it but I'll give it a try.
I have a 96 Wide Glide and the original owner had the SE 1550 Conversion kit & the SE 1550 HC Forged Pistons installed. Does that mean instead of it being the standard 1340cc, it's now a 1550cc? |
yes thats correct he took it from a 88" to a 95"
|
80 was the starting point....
|
Ok, thanks guys. much appreciated

Evo Or TC
1550 cubic centimeters is 95 cu in...How do you know what internals are in the bike ?
|
Hold on now. There is no such thing as a SE 1550 kit for and 80 inch Evo. Some information you have about the bike is incorrect.
|
I have the invoices & receipts with part numbers. (I didnt say anything about an 80 inch Evo .. but was that the standard engine for the 96 FXDWG?)
I'm at work, but when I get up, I'll double check & post it. Also, I'm the 3rd owner, 2nd owner was my father-in-law, & 1st owner was his cousin ... so the bike has become a family heirloom, I guess. lol Any help I can get is much appreciated. |

There are several ways to make an 80" / 1340 cc motor bigger. Both Stroker Kits and Big Bore. None of them from Harley as I recall.
So you may have a hot rod, but the name S/E 1550 isn't correct. That's what I've got, and it's a Twin Cam (99 and up,), not an Evo ( 84 to 99.) |

Yes, a 1996 would have had the 80ci Evolution motor.
