bike won't start? 06 sbob

ok guys went to take the bike out for a ride and the bike won't start. It has a new battery so I know that's not the problem. The head light comes on but no other lights. just the N for neutral. I hit the run button and nothing, light was also going dim fast . Please chime in if you have any idea's.

See if you've got any diagnostic codes; should be able to search a procedure and list of codes here on the Dyna section. Though your issue sounds beyond "codes", one of them (if present) could point you in the right direction.

Loose battery connection?
Starter relay?

Lights dimming tells that current is getting low. Did you charge battery before starting to use it, its never full when buying it? Check the connector in front of primary case, its coming from stator. It must be firmly togehter. Thats common place to have issues with charging and power supply. If connectors are loose/dirty, they melt down.

Won't Start

Could also be a pinched wire from installing those handlebars..

the battery is about a month old. I'm thinking its the stator. Its an 06 as far as codes go. I can't pull a code from it because that gauge isn't on. the only thing on is the head light and neutral indicator. and that's barley because the power is almost gone.

Charge your battery all day then try again right away. Your headlight dimming is a sign of a battery problem. Even new batteries can cause problems if they have a weak cell. The jump start charger doesn't always work if the battery is NFG so that might not work. Had a battery problem with mine where it would start right after charging, wait a day or so, no start, changed battery no problems. You could also grab a multimeter, disconnect your battery, troubleshoot for a short/drain. I would check all that well before looking at other things.

check your fuses even with a low battery you should still get a speedo indication...
