Question...and probably a silly one...why does Laminar produce that as an extension rather than a replacement for the stock 1/4 fairing's screen? They could just as easily make a piece that swapped in for the orginal screen. Patent issues?

The extension looks like an afterthought rather than a factory component of the HD fairing. Just my opinion...
