what's next...?
Hey guys, still very new to the H-D scene. So far, I've put pipes, AC, Metzler 880's, Mikuni carb on her...but wondering what I can do next for improvements. I'd definitely like to do a 95" upgrade and cams in the future, but don't have the money for that right now. Is there a middle ground? Any worthwhile upgrades that don't cost $500+?
I was thinking about an ignition upgrade, but not sure what options are out there or if it is worth it for a mostly stock engine. Suspension also comes to mind as I'm pretty sure its never been touched by previous owners, however I've heard that the FXDX suspension is a pain to take apart (special tools?) and replace the fork oil. ANY (helpful) opinions and advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance! |
how about $500 in gas? Thats my favorite thing to get my bike.

You've about hit the limit for 500 and under.
essentially, you've already done a stage one, stage 2 is all of 1 plus a cam upgrade 3 I believe is 1, 2 and then punching out the motor, in your case to the 95" from DX owner accounts that i've read, the stock suspension on those are actually very good compared to what Harley's usually have from the factory. You could start doin cosmetic changes... ie, bars, powder coat various parts. seat etc |
