RoadKing to a CVO Fat Bob

Hi all;

Sold an '09 Police Road King, now I would like to purchase a '10 Fat Bob CVO.

Looking mostly day trips, but, a few long ones this summer. Will the bike be comfortable for the long haul. I am not thinking the ride would be as nice as the King, but, hoping somewhere close.

Please give me your thoughts, all you Dyna riders.

Thanks
Donnie

Depending on your budget. .I'd consider a used regular Fat Bob instead. Take that money and put it toward suspension upgrades and have a lot left over for any other motor work you may want. I like the Fat Bob for longer trips. Things you may want coming from a King:

FLD Foot boards: $350~
Nice rear shocks: $650-1000 depending, I like Ricor @ $650
Nice bags: $600~ Leather Pro's detachable
Front suspension work: $2-300~ (Race tech, Ricor, etc)

If you want a fairing, that's another 500 or so from Memphis shades.

If you do high miles, you'll want to look into doing some longevity upgrades to the motor, figure at least a grand there.

I went from the Road King in my signature (gotta change that one day...) to a Wideglide. I only weigh around 160 and I think the WG rides as well or better. If you are a bigger guy, you may have an issue...I rode it 300 miles last Saturday and was fine...

I'd say the Fat Bob is a pretty comfortable bike but like everyone else I tweaked mine till it was setup just right for me. I agree with mattVA go get a standard FXDF and put the difference in cost into setting it up the way you want. Like having a comfy chair with a hot rod motor and the ability to corner very nicely :icon_eddie:
