I bought the premium rebuild kit for my carb from CV Performance and took my carb off, cleaned it all up with Simple Green put all the new rebuild parts in it and reassembled it. I figured while I had the carb off I might as well put new intake manifold seals on it right? So, I bought the special intake manifold wrench from a friend of mine who is a Mac Tool dealer, removed the horn and decided to break the rear bolts loose first. Sure as can be I stripped out the first allen bolt so I got nowhere on the project. So now what do I do? How can I get these bolts out. Anybody else had this happen? In hindsight I'm thinking maybe I should have hit them with a shot of Liquid Wrench or some Mechanic's Friend first? Please help
Undo the the other one on that jug and lever against the flange with a screwdriver or tire iron to get some outward pressure on the bolt while you undo it ...takes 2 people but usually works.
Helicoil the thread and reassemble with new seals.
If you stripped the head then do this:
Dremel the head off the screw off and wind the screw out with grips or cut a screw driver slot in the stub or weld a nut on the end so you can unscrew it..
