Raw look?

Have any of you guys sanded off the paint on your bikes to achieve the raw metal look. If so, did you clear coat or anything afterwords. I am interested in attempting this and if it doesn't look good, just repaint?

Guess it would be like buying jeans with holes or a new worn out hat and paying to dollar. Spray it with primer and seal coat it.

Sonny, exactly like that! Looks great, did you clear coat it or do you occasionally Gibbs it?

that's all paint so you have metal protection and no maintance .
I sprayed pewter base with 4 heavy coats of clear . then wet sand with 400 grit sand paper to put scratches in it and kill the shine . then put wax on it so water beads and no finger prints

I saw some tough looking bikes in the 70"s. But then there was some tough guys riding them. It took a lot of life out of you to wear a bike down like that. Guess the same is true anymore with pants. Easier to buy or make. One thing about metal, if you keep wearing on the same area, it won't rust.
