new handlebars on 2013 fxdb
I read through a few threads on putting new handlebars on a street bob, but now I'm a bit more confused than I was to begin with haha. I'm going with 12" mini apes, drilled for the internal wiring so I know the cable length will be fine, but do I need to get new bushings as well? I'm not worried about HOW to change them I just need to know if I'd need any other parts other than the bars. Thanks

Brand new bike, your bushing should be fine.
|
So all I need is the bars?
|
I'd get poly bushings which I doubt your bike comes with. There is a lot more flex in the rubber bushings.
|
Yea might as well get the bushings while your at it. I installed my custom tbars with stock bushings and there was some play in it .. then installed harley's poly bushings and she's rock solid.

Aren't 12" mini-apes pretty much what's on there now? Mine were 11.5" total rise stock.

If you liked the stock bars but want them in black, you can pick them up from Harley for about $70. My buddy just put a set on his Nightster. The PN is 56075-07.
