Ok i have a 2007 Dyna Wide with about 52k miles now and i havent done anything but keep the oil changed in all holes at the same time and a few upgraded mods on the outside nothing engine wise.
So my question is, is there anything i should inspect? or take a look at or look forward to going bad anytime soon?
Im pretty sure 07 and up models all have the hyd tensioner and i hear that setup can last for a while
does yours have the hyd tensioners? or the spring loaded?
ya i want to try to do as much as i can myself cuz i dont have a lot of money to give to a shop so they can tell me ya its ok
Yes, they are spring loaded. If I remember they are made out of a phenolic type of material. At 50k+ miles, I'd definitely open it up and give a good look see.
If it were me, I'd look to do a cam upgrade at the same time since you're gonna have it open anyway.

I was referring to his 06
from what i was told all 07 and newer are hyd and not spring loaded.
thx thats what i was thinking so those should hold up pretty well ya?
what about the fork oil it says every 25k that sound about right? thats the only other thing ive seen or heard about other than normal routine maintenance

Pretty sure my '06 has the hyd. tensioned ones, too. EZ enough to see the outer one by pulling the cover; could be indicative of the inner one's condition, but no guarantee.
+1 on the fork oil; when I installed chrome lowers at ~10K, I was shocked by how filthy the fork oil was.
