metalic noise when shifting sometimes

metalic noise when shifting sometimes
2008 fat bob. 16 k on it. well maintained. Once in awhile when going thru the gears i get this metalic noise after i shift and get on the gas. then i downshift and then shift up again and noise is gone. Does it every so often. Kinda annoying. Wife says she cant hear it but i hear it. The thing runs like a bear. Im kinda stumped. Thought might be exhaust shield rattling cause it kinda sounds like it. Sounds like comin from front left side of bike near front cylinder down low. Anybody ever have this issue

Lots of kinds of metallic noises- clunks, rattles, etc. If you think it's the heat shield, it just might be- easy to check. Could also be the front motor mount or a slightly loose tank bolt.

Its a tin like rattle noise. dont think its heat shield all clamps r tight except the one on front cylinder closest to the exhaust flange. Its striped but it tightens up pretty tight then strips outl

I have a 12 fat bob with 103. More and more I'm noticing a clack from the primary area after I upshift, feels like slop ij the primary drive almost. Clutch and clutch cable are adjusted to spec. It can be infuriating when noises pop up that are a bitch to hunt down.
Needless tocsay, its on my laundry list for a warranty trip down to dealer.

ebettie. that is the exact noise i am hearing to a tee and the exact area. never heard noise last year. just started this season and it dosnt do it all the time. I have a 7 year warranty on bike that transfered to me so i may bring it in to dealer or change primary oil and c what happens first. i am curious what that noise is.
