What to look out for beside IPB on 06 Dyna

I have read a lot about the IPB issue on 06 Dynas. I will call the dealer tomorrow and ask for info regarding that issue since I haven't taken delivery as of yet. Is there something else that I should keep an eye on? Or is that the major issue that most people had with that bike? Thanks for any info.

The other issue is the rotor/stator self-destructing.
This is one of those times when the extended warranty might be worth purchasing, if they'll sell it to you.

If the dealer acknowledges either of these problems (which would surprise me), please see if you can get that in writing. It might come in handy for the rest of us.

Got it. I called the dealer as they are replacing tires and brakes before sale is final. I also mentioned that I wanted a IPB and rotor report before I signed. I will probably go for warranty.
Thanks.

I think I would have your dealer run the VIN and see if maybe something has already been done by the MoCo.

The transmission main shaft double bearing ball carrier is plastic and is known to break up. This is the shaft the drive sprocket is on.

And this is the result of the stator issue when it goes bad. The rotor bolts unscrew and let loose. Make sure they can show proof that the rotor has been replaced with the welded kind, or it WILL become a problem at some point.
