Some of you might think this is nuts. I traded in my fire-breathing "12" Fat Bob for a new "13" Switchback today.
Every time I got on the Fat Bob all I could think about was what I wanted to change....the bike did not fit me or my riding style. On the FB I wanted to add a comfortable seat, floorboards, raised bars and lockable hard bags. I was also not happy with the hopped up engine, its too much. I don't ride like a "hot rodder" and really wanted de-tune and quiet the engine and loose the A\C sticking in my leg(bought it with a stage 1 int/exh and dyno tune).
I realize all this could be done with some time and money into the bike but then it hit me that Harley pretty much did it for me.....they built the Switchback. I worked out a decent deal this afternoon on a basic vivid black SB. I'm putting on the Mustang wide Vintage seat I have on the FB and a few other things I can carry over.
I'm still having trouble believing I actually traded the Fat Bob after only 3mo ......but I could see where it was going with that bike. Now I've got a band new scoot, that's set up exactly the way I want. Will be picking it up Wednesday morning and heading out with some buds to the RI coast for seafood, this should be a nice shake down cruse.
Yea, my wife didn't take it too badly either...Didn't know how the hole "Honey, I bought a new bike" thing was going to fly...but she took it in stride, cool girl
Sounds to me like you got the bike you really wanted. Took me four Harleys before I got the Dyna, what I really wanted all along. Congrats.
BTW, a quieter Harley is nothing of which to be ashamed. Left my stock mufflers on and I enjoy the ability to hear more than just the engine when riding... Have fun. tomp dd50
I dig it, I think the first thing I would have to do is put some highway pegs on, the forwards on the WG are way too comfortable, I dont think I could ever go mids.

Idk how tall you are, but the footboards are perfect for me (5' 9"). Even if I had longer legs, the footboards have a nice range of positions you can put your feet. After riding my wife's FLD, foodboards for my FXDB are the next thing on my list. I just love how comfy the FLD is in stock form.
