Width of lifting points for dyna motorcycle Jack?

I have read the the threads on moding the sears red jacks-lifts.
But what is the width of the lifting points needed on a dyna?

I have read in one post the Lowes Jack without any mods, but want to know the width of the lifting point when I start shopping for a lift.

Thanks

On my '010 FB width of frame at front is 10-1/2" - towards the rear the frame starts at 10-1/2" near the jiffy stand and tapers down to 9" under the oil pan. Your measurements may vary slightly - you should take a look underneath and measure to confirm.

Thanks for your reply. But maybe I misunderstood, or didn't make my question clear.

What is the width on the lifting points on the Jack? I am looking at jacks-modding a Jack and want to know how wide the lifting points need to be for a dyna.

I did the sears jack last night but I just went by trial and error. I just added washers as spacers until I got the right width. I can measure it later.

I just use a floor jack for my `09 Dyna. Along with that I use a 1 x 12 board, and two 4 x 4 x 12 wood blocks. I raise the jack high enough for the 4 bys to go under the frame just behind the trans & engine oil plugs. You just have to be careful when first raising the bike to be well centered on the 1 by, so the bike won`t tip. Once the jack is lowered for the frame to rest upon the 4 bys, the bike is rock solid for whatever you need to do.

Here's mine...I'm going to look for 7" bolts next time I'm at my local hardware store because the left side could stand to move out just a touch more and the 6" bolt doesn't have enough threads left on it.

Looking at the width between the pads, add 2&1/2" for the tape so, right around 13&7/8"

Mine is 15.5" from inside to inside of the lift after the modification of Sears Red Jack. Make sure that you use a grade 8 1/2" bolts.

If you move the pads to the outside and use 1/2" spacers between the pads and the frame of the jack, you'll have enough room to clear the necessary irregularities in the frame.

You can use the sears jack WITHOUT modification as well, but then you'll need the HD lift adapters. Your choice. I checked the lowe's jack specs online. Kinda narrow if you ask me.

I will just get the Sears Jack and do the mod
