Really? Out of this entire thread, one post mentioned their relative was an Amsoil dealer.
Availability is one major reason I use M! VTwin 20W50. Its at Walmart and just about any Auto Parts House. I catch it on sale generally in the spring for $7 a quart. Racing 4T 10W40 for the primary for $7 as well but Gear oil is about $12 a quart.
I think Amsoil is a good product and so is Mobil 1 Vtwin but too many get caught up in the Vtwin part...Like i said before , it's just a plain old pushrod engine...Any 15w50, 20w50, 20w40, 50wt or 60wt will work fine. The marketing on the Vtwin word gets so many people going...Again, not saying these oils are junk but what we are buying into is marketing. I refuse to pay $10 a quart for motor oil. I don't put it in my $32000 car or my $18000 bike, it's pure waste...It is some good Koolaid though. STRONG stuff..
ON my V rod was burning a quart every 800 miles using Mobil one. Switched to Amsoil oil and Amsoil filter and needed a quart every 1,500 to 2,000 miles. Now using on my 2013 Street bob, and have not burned a quart in 4,500 miles. I resisted using it for 2-3 years, but kept seeing testimonials on the V rod forum.
Worked for me.
