Default Carlini Gangster Apes too wide for Street Bob?

I am sure this question has been asked before but I can't seem to find the answer...

I am looking at some apes for my '08 Street Bob and I like the Evil's and Gangsta's, however, I feel the base width of the Gangsta's might be too wide and stick out too far on each side of the forks and make the bike look funny when looking at it from the front.

Does anyone have any input on this? Am I out to lunch? Would the evil apes look better?

Any pics would be great from head on.

Thanks in advance!!

9" is standered ... keeps them even with the front end. Anymore would look stupid IMO

I think bars that extend to far past the trees look contradicting on the street bob. The front end isn't beefy enough to flow with the wide base.

I called carlini the other day and they recommend their bars with the sharp angles (menace, pist and evil) for the street bob. I was also told the base width on these bars is the outside diameter. I ordered a pair a week ago..... I also hope they look good. Bfdhd14 posted some good pics in my thread... https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...lini-apes.html hope this helps....

Thanks for the info guys! I do agree that too wide would look just plain silly...will be ordering a set of Evil's once I figure out how to get them to Canada!!

I will also be doing a DIY for the install...any threads that you know of that give a good step-by-step run down of how to do it? I will be searching the forum in the next couple of days for that info too!

Cheers!
