Default To ape or not to ape?

So recently my wife and I have been getting into Sons of Anarchy. One thing I'm particularly liking about the show is the fact the SOA bikes are customised but not done up like showpieces.

I ride a candy apple red 2008 Fat Bob with a Ventura T-bar with a 12" rise. It's a tall bar and looks slightly out of proportion, but I'm tall and it makes the ride more comfortable.

After a couple of seasons of SOA it got me wondering what my ride would look like with a set of apes or mini apes, say 10" to 14".

So my question, esteemed chaps and ladies of Dyna, is thus - to ape or not to ape?

I have just installed 14" apes on my 2007 Wide Glide replacing my t-bars. The few miles (~160 miles) I have had them on they seem more comfortable. FYI I am 6'2" with long legs and arms.

Well I guess I will be the first to say that I am not totally sold on the idea of getting apes. Dont get me wrong, I think they look great! And up until today I was sure that I wanted them, thinking that they would be more comfortable than my stock bars. But today after riding for the first time in a week, my stock bars felt really good to me, so now I am at a crossroads. I would hate to spend the money and time on putting them on only to find out I think my stock bars feel better.

So to recap, I am not against them by any means, just dont know how I personally would feel about them......
