13.5 Inch Progressive 412's on '00 FXDL?
Can anyone tell me why these shocks that are said to work for the FXR, and sportster, won't work on a 2000 FXDL? Is is exhaust clearance? Do I need to come up with some sort of a work around? It seems that Progressive only makes one 13.5 inch shock for my bike, and I find that a bit odd.

I know there are a few other brands, but this works in my budget. I want this height, and I can't seem to find FXDX shocks for less than 500 bucks.

One reason there are different part numbers is spring rates. The shock on an FXR or an XL attaches to the swingarm directly above the axle. Because the shocks attach to the swing arm in front of the axle on the dyna it needs a stiffer spring. The spring rates on an FXR or an XL are less than what a Dyna needs. It will leave you with rear suspension thats too soft.
