Who has the best price on tires?
I'm looking to get a Metzeler 880 or Dunlop Elite 3 120/70-21, does anybody have a good price source for their tires?
|
It depends...decide what you want and google it...take some time and do a little comparative shopping.
When I was looking for a new rear tire last winter, I found the best deal for the OEM Dunlop HD 401 150-80B-16 for my SG at Bike Bandit...$130 shipped. Ordered it Saturday evening and it was at my front door on Wednesday. Be advised, opinions about the best tires are as varied as political opinions...discussions on them can get pretty heated. just say'n... ;) |
I've always got mine from MotorcycleSuperstore.

Last year I bought tires from rockeymountainatv.com they were cheaper than anywhere else. I know its an off-road store but sell everything.

Jakewilson.com. Free 3day shipping

American Motorcycle Tire beat everybody for my Avon. They suck at communications and I wasn't sure when I was going to get my tire. No shipping info and it kind of bugged me, but the tire showed up in less than 5 days. I'll use them again as long as they beat the prices. Before I used motorcycle superstore also and they are good.

880's |
Got my commander 2's from motorcycle superstore, beat prices i found
|
I shop Jake Wilson and Dennis Kirk, usually Kirk wins out most often and their service is spot on.
|
i tend to alternate between between j&p and motercycle superstore depending on price.
they both have good customer service my back tire is 160/70/17, but one time by mistake i ordered a 170/60/17. J&p take it back no questions asked and even sent me a return to sender postage sticker. |
When I was shopping for a michelin commander II I found the best deal at Chaparral motorsports. I received it in 3 days

+3 on American Motorcycle tire
http://americanmototire.com/catalog/ |
I had one of these on my '07 Street Bob and it was by far and away the best tire I've had on any cruiser, held up well and the price is right.

Can't get the stupid link to work. Sorry.

I checked every vendor mentioned and for the Avons I run http://www.motoxoutlet.com/streettiresmotorcycle.aspx beat everybody on price and if you by 2 tires the shipping is only $25. Ordered mine on a Friday afternoon, they were on my doorsteps when I got home from work on Monday.
And not am not affiliated with them or any other vendor mentioned. |
As I was looking my bike over for a ride yesterday, I noticed that my front tire is showing some age cracks so I am going to replace it with an OEM Dunlop D401-100-19 (yeah, I know some of you literally hate Dunlop, but if they are good enough for Harley Davidson, they are good enough for me...besides, I replaced the rear tire with an OEM Dunlop D401 last spring and it still has a few thousand miles left on it).
I limited my search to all of the suggestions offered here and compared them to the Harley Davidson Parts price, $154.95 + $12.78 state sales tax, Total $167.72 American Motor Tire: Not in online catalog Bike Bandit: $102.95 w/free shipping, in stock Chaparral Motorsports: Not available Dennis Kirk: $95.88 + $5.00 oversize fee + $44.60 USPS (lowest cost shipping); Total $145.88 J&P Cycles: Not available in blackwall Jake Wilson: Front tire not in online catalog Moto Outlet: $100.99 + $15 shipping; Total $115.99, in stock Motorcycle Superstore: $104.99 w/free shipping, in stock Rocky Mountain ATV: $104.99 w/free shipping, in stock Results: Bike Bandit is the lowest at $102.95 w/free shipping and no sales tax Motorcycle Superstore and Rocky Mountain are next with $104.95 w/free shipping and no sales tax Dennis Kirk is the highest price behind Harley Davidson at $145.88...only $21.88 below HD price. (Every time I look for parts, Dennis Kirk is usually on the high end, just below Dealer prices) I will order from Bike Bandit...again. |
