switchback shocks
 

hey new to this forum. anyone have any luck with lowering blocks on the switchbacks? wifee's been riding since '89 but all on a lowered sporty. want to go with a low seat and possibly lowering blocks. then she'll be flat footed and more comfortable. any help is appreciated!

unfortunately there are no lowering blocks which will work with stock switchback shocks...

first thing is to get rid of the stock seat which is too wide for short people, i am only 5'5" and originally went with a reach seat which helped a little but found that the stock fat bob seat lowered me more and much more comfortably than the reach did..
see if your dealer has a stock one that she can test...

my next step was a set of late model ( take up to 50lbs air) street glide airshocks, changed the oil out to 10wt and was completely flat footed with them over the stock shocks..

last piece which wasnt really needed but i got a great deal on was a saddlemen heals down seat complete with pillion and backrest..

i assume NY is where you are located BUT you are WAAAAAAY up there , if you were closer to central NJ i would invite you over for her to see how mine sits, have had many short people sit on it to date and went same route as i did..

do not go with lowering blocks, I did that and lost one bag, I had to change shocks.

Progressive makes a few different "lower like" shocks for the switchback. But many shocks on dynas are interchangeable with the switchback. I put 12" covered progressive 412's on mine. Look and feel great for the price.
