Primary Drive Locking tool
I am looking to buy one, does any one know where I can buy one, other than the HD one? I just don't feel like spending 4 times what the tool is worth.

If you're working on an 06', then that is the wrong tool you've got pictured there.

RE: Primary Drive Locking tool
I made one out of a jack handle.
Required tools are a torch, a big hammer, and a good grinder.

RE: Primary Drive Locking tool
The correct tool part number is in the service manual on page 6-10, along with an illustration of how it is to be used.
You need a service manual if you are going to be disassembling your bike to this extent.
The part number for the locking tool is "HD-47977"

I used a piece of scrap steel bar....1/8-1/4" thick....a little wider than the main sprocket....had to play around with the length....also notched one end to clear something on the clutch basket.
Simple...yet effective.

RE: Primary Drive Locking tool
use a thick shop rag or towel and jamb it between the chain and sprocket. this is the method I've been using for years.
