Default Dummy Cap / Fuel Gauge Ideas

I want a new gas cap but I am not sure what to do about the left side. I've got a few RSD bits and I like their gas caps but I have heard that if you use their dummy cap, even the "Empty" LED dummy cap, the "miles-to-empty" feature will no longer work.

What options are available while keeping the "miles-to-empty" feature functional?

I can't decide exactly. The RSD bits I have are contrast cut and the bike is Denim Black so there's a lot of options as far as finish. I was thinking of just putting some black Plastidip on the gauge and then just getting whatever gas cap I want.

another option that i did is to take the guts out of the fuel gauge side and put it back in the hole for that side, then buy whatever you like for caps. worked very well for me. I bought performance machine caps that fit and work perfect. they also have a fuel gauge for most of their cap on the left side now..
