Default Street Bob Shocks - bolts question

Hey everyone,

So one of the last things I need for my Street Bob (2006) are new shock bolts. I'm thinking of leaving the chrome covers off and just bolting it right up but it looks like I will need shorter bolts.

Has anyone left the chrome covers off theirs and bought new shorter bolts? Do I need the long spacer in there or can I take that out? I don't have the bolts in front of me so I don't know what size I need at the moment. Please let me know if anyone has done something like this and any info you have on bolt size and the new sizes you used if you left the covers off.

Let me know,

Thanks you!

You don't need shorter bolts, the cover is quite thin. I have removed the covers and use stock bolts.

Did you leave the spacers? Do you happen to have torque specs for the top and bottom bolts?

Of coz! You need the spacers for shocks clearance.

Upper bolts:
75-85ft/lbs
Lower bolts:
30-40ft/lbs
