0000 steel wool

will this steel wool work to get rust spots off chrome parts

A good chrome cleaner will remove heavy oxidization and should be used/tried before using other more aggressive methods. If the cleaner doesn't then try the 4 ought steel wool

Yep. I use it with Mother's polish all the time.

+1. I took a ton of rust off chrome rims and pipes on a 2000 Indian Chief and the steel wool and mothers worked great.

Not to hijack but any tips on how to remove rust from wire rims. what i mean is anything quick?

I used 0000 steel wool and mothers on a pair of older rims, but, it ain't fast.

Try flitz ball and autosol. When I bought my 07 SB, both rims have surface rust, I use Flitz mini ball and autosol, cleaned them in 20mins. Flitz mini is small enough to get into tight spots like between laces and hub.

If they are really bad, Nothing cleans better than mothers and shoe laces and some hours of your time. After that apply a couple of coats of wax to ensure coverage and then routine cleaning to remove brake dust dirt and road grime with occasional waxwings. Lyndall Gold Z brake pads will help with the brake dust rust problem.

Try dipping a piece of aluminum foil in water, rub it on your chrome parts, it will create a paste through some kind of chemical reaction, it actually works pretty good.
