Default Took my FXDWG in for service.... Told i have a bent front rim

Took my 2010 FXDWG in for 10K mile service today, and was told that my front rim is bent. Bent so bad that it's way out of spec according to the Tech
Spinning it by hand with the front end off the ground, you can see a slight wobble
Asked him how bad this was, he said if it was his bike he wouldn't ride it like that
Problem is I think I've been riding it like that for months. I remember hitting a couple if potholes when I first got it back in August

It's going to cost me all total about $750 for a new rim and spacers, then labor.

Bad news right at the beginning of riding season

I personally wouldn't trust this mechanic, WHY if the rim is bent why the **** do you replace the spacers WARNING bell straight away, if the rim is steel it can be straighten very cheaply.. or replacement with a new rim about $250

$ 750 to lace up and true a new wheel?!?! NFW I'd pay that much. You can get a new take off on ebay for alot less.
Is the rim BENT or just poorly laced and trued?

You can get a whole wheel assembly brand new for less than $500 oem. Here's a link. Im sure if you put the part number in on surdyke or another online shop you can find it there to. The same thing happened to me but my hoop was bent on the bead but i ended up going with a set of southern mc wheels.

Friends don't let friends get their bikes fixed at harley. Do a little more research, find a good indy and pick up a wheel online or forum. I gave my spoke wheels to my indy when we put my 13 spoke mags on to do whatever he wanted to do with it. I paid $400 for 2 mags off a 2010 sportster and we made it fit easily. Don't get raped by a dealer, god i hate those bastards. They quoted me $400 for racetech springs installed, told them racetech charges $120 flat rate, so they charged me $200 and after a few weeks after my bike not feeling right, i had my indy check it. They did it wrong, so i talked to the owner. He took care of me but it just confirmed, they will never touch my bikes again

Thanks for all the help. I found a new set of take off wheels from '13 Wide Glide for $200 locally
Going to take it to the Indy here and get em both installed

Dealer also told me he couldn't put the old
(Less than 4k miles) back on because the bands had come loose
