Brake fluid flush, be honest

Be honest now, does here everyone do brake fluid every two years?

RANGER73 05-02-2014 07:24 AM

Not everyone

Not me....I did it at about 75000 miles...it always looked clean so I left it alone

I do. Also clean the calipers at the same time. The calipers get cleaned more often as well, as needed.

I dont, I'll wait until I do the pads

I just bought my Dyna this winter and did a complete fluid change....obviously no one ever did it before cause the bleeder broke off the rear caliper causing me some unnecessary grief!

flush brake fluid every year along with cleaning calipers.....you would be surprised at how much gets collected on there....

Yeah, me too.

I do - just finished doing two of my bikes. Having owned bikes with hydraulic brakes for forty years you should see the state the fluid can get into if ignored! They all take in water and can corrode the internals of the system - which is the main reason for changing it.
