Help! Sissy bar install 2013 wideglide
 

Right now I am working out of town ( 7days 12 hr a day) and staying in a motel. I have limited tools and no jack. I would like to install a longer Sissy bar on my wideglide. The problem is turn signal wiring. Are the plugs under the seat or at the signals? Can this be done without a jack or am I just jerking off?

I removed mine with out a jack wasn't fun. So yes it can be done

Sounds like fun.

A jack helps, but it isn't absolutely required. It just makes room between the tire and fender.

Do you have a tail light or just run/turn/brake in the signals?

If just two signals, the wire connects under the seat, and inside the TS housing.

The connector under the seat is easier to disassemble, but it's a bitch to run the wires under the fender without a jack (not impossible, just really hard to get your hand in.) look up Molex connector disassembly on YouTube for the under seat connector. The connector won't fit through the hole in the strut, so you have to remove the pins from the connector.n it's actually very easy with a paper clip or jeweler screwdriver.

It's also possible to disconnect the wires from the TS. I'd go this route because you wouldn't have to disrupt routing under the fender.

To do this.
Take the TS loose from the strut and let it hang by the wire
Remove lens
Remove the bulb
Remove the rubber seal around the edge of the inside. It just pulls out.
Using a punch or other long device, insert the punch into the hole in the side of the bullet housing and push the reflector shell out. It's just stuffed in and will push out easily. Father wires are connected to the reflector, so feed some wire as you push the reflector out.

Now, remove the wires from the reflector.
You'll see a piece of flat metal in a rectangular hole. It's a spring holding the wire. Push in on the flat metal while gently pulling the wire.

Now you can install the sissy bar and reverse the wire/TS assembly.
