Put it in my heated garage with Sta-bil mixed in with a full tank of gas and run through the fuel system. Before I park it I take it out for a good ride so it is completely up to operating temp as well to evaporate any moisture inside the engine. Then I drape some flannel sheets over it and plug it into a battery tender every couple weeks. Oh and I have it parked on a section of carpet as well and perform a full service shortly before parking it.
I follow the same procedure except I have garage mats and a cover for the bike. I also give the bike a good detailing.
fill tank full of gas with no ethanol and stabilizer , change oil, check tire pressure, use breathable cover, plug into battery tender till spring walk away

Geez my fresh oil isn't going to be so fresh anymore at the rate I am going. I did my oil change to park my bike a couple weeks ago but the weather keeps holding and I can't say no to going for a ride. We are having an extended indian summer up here and the highs are running around 60 degrees during the day. Usually we are getting snow now or at least only seeing just above freezing this time of year. I put on about 350 miles today and had a blast. We have a shorter trip planned for tomorrow of about 200 miles and then I will stop and fill it up with 94 octane and Sta-bil on the way home. I go back on shift Monday and by the time I go on days off again the forcast is only showing highs of about 35 degees. So after tomorrow I will have added another 600 miles since my 5k oil change. So much for parking it with fresh oil. At least it is synthetic with a high TBN. I am sure it will be just fine. It will be around the end of April before I will be able to ride again. Winters are very long up here.
Edit: Here is a picture of where we stopped for lunch. Mine was the only LR in the bunch.
I am soo glad even in the middle of winter there is normally a day or two every week I can go for a ride.
Ditto on that. There may be a few weeks in Jan or Feb when I can only ride on weekends during the day when it warms up. But it won't be sitting all winter long. I use only gas with no ethanol so sitting for a month won't hurt a thing. Add some sea foam to a fillup once in a while too.
