I have the Danny Gray, Longhaul 2up with the built-in Airhawk system, That said, the one your lookin at could be a good deal, All DGs are hand made with real leather. A seat doesn't have to be thick with spongy padding to be comfy, But you need to try it and get used to it. I totally luv mine, put my stock(service) seat on for service,it sux.Anyways at that price you could always resell it np.

I have the same style seat but with the tribal stitching and with gel foam in both rider and passenger.

My buddy has the same style with no stitching and without the foam.

Both are good seats but the foam makes for a far superior ride and much longer comfort. Big difference.

I got mine from Sterling Seats on Ebay. Didn't pay much for it, either but I think his prices have gone up since he got successful.

Bang for the buck, nobody beats Danny Grey, IMHO.

Here's his Ebay Store.

Please understand, I'm not shilling for this guy. Know nothing about him except that I got a good seat from him for the money. I have two from him. The other one is the butt crack solo.... No stitching but gel foam. The gel foam kicks ****.

In the Danny Gray, it's worth it -- Again... IMHO.

I don't know if they still do, but Harley's high end catalog seats used to be Danny Gray. Mine even had the HD P/N on it when I got it.

It may have been a return or something. That may be why I got it so cheap.

I really like mine. Can't say enough good things about it

Like I said, I'm not shilling for this guy. I just want to see you get the best bang for your buck.

You might end up hating the seat, don't know.

I went for a 300+ mile ride with my buddy who was bragging about his LePera and how comfortable it is.... (It's vinyl) and he couldn't hang with me. He was on a wide glide.

When I first got my seat and put it on, I thought, "Hell, this thing is hard. No way it's going to be comfortable."

Thing is..... It really is. It IS hard at first. And it doesn't really get soft or supple. But the doggone thing IS comfortable.

Don't know how or why, but my gel seat is harder to the touch but MUCH more comfortable.

I can't explain it.

You want go wrong with the DG seat. Rode twice now to Sturgis, each way being 2100 miles on one and I can tell you it money well spent!

I have the dg short hop 2up xl and I love it. The rider section is low like the one your looking at and very firm but it's plenty comfortable. It's all about pressure points not padding. I'd recommend a dg to anyone, go for it. I got mine on amazon for under $300

Seat is comfortable for the rider imo, but narrow for passenger on longer runs. The XL version (i think this is what topdog's shows in his post) is probably worth considering if goal is passenger comfort.

Here is picture next to a badlander for reference.

Danny Gray used to make (maybe still does) a similar seat for HD. I think it's called the RalleyRunner.
