Question Black Triple Trees Part Numbers

Hey now,

Looking to black out the front end on my 2007 FXDB Street Bob. Rather than send my old parts out for powder coat, I'm considering to buy the upper fork clamp and fork stem from a 2013 FXDB Street Bob. Anyone know if these parts are interchangeable?

2013 Black Triple Tree Parts
- 45900040 UPPER CLAMP (GLOSS BLACK)
- 45900041 FORK STEM (GLOSS BLACK)

2007 Triple Tree Parts
- 45538-06A UPPER CLAMP
- 46384-06 FORK STEM

2006-2014 non wide glide or fat bob will work perfect(same trees). I got new '07 trees on my '09 when I wanted to get rid of the integrated riser setup that come stock on the 2009 then Joe the Powder Pro took care of making them look good w/ some black treatment.

I did a weekend project and painted them with appliance epoxy. If you get them done by thepowderpros I can officially vouch for their product. On my Move to Indiana I ordered some Wrinkle rocker covers and picked them up at their shop in person and Tim gave me a little tour of the operation and even taught me some things. Very cool dude!! Saw some embers parts, wheels and other things. Freaking amazing quality!! Anyways here's mine wit the Rustoleum Appliance epoxy. I did the fork lowers 6 years ago and still look good.

Thanks, that was done in 2012 fork lowers in 2008. Just let it cure for at least two days before touching. You can handle it but be careful because it's still soft. 4-7 days it's fully cured if I remember right and hard as a rock after.

Here's the write up that started me off on the epoxy. Prep is key!!. Don't use those paint prep wipes to clean, they suck ***!!! I use rubbing alcohol now and haven't looked back for my paint prep cleaning.

If you have to tear apart the front end anyway, you may as well get them coated.

It will be a lot cheaper than buying new trees.
