Default clutch upgrade with cam change

Looking at woods 222 cams or Andrews 48. Heard the stock 103 diaphragm spring was weak and was a good idea to change. Anyone running mild cams do a clutch upgrade or stock holding up fine?

A SE diaphragm clutch spring should be all you need for your plans.

A SE clutch spring is about 20% better than stock, and as mentioned should be all you need for yor current plan, hells you may even be ok without upgrading the diaphram spring. however a barnett clutch spring is closer to 35% but be ready that first time you let it out or you may stall!

As mentioned in the two posts above you will be fine with the SE clutch spring.

HD Pilot have you installed the Alto clutch? How is it?

I had an energy one extra plate kit I put in my sporty. 15% over wasn't bad but sitting at lights sucked after while. Every time I would hit neutral light turn green :$.
Looks like I have to buy a different spring compressor to do it. So they don't run riveted steels on the newer big twins I take it?

They are in and all is well, never really noticed slipping before Steve dynoed it and none now. Need to put a few more rides on them to get a better feel for them. Planning on a short thread on the install along with the Baker manual I put in.

After searching some specs and few inquiries I am leaning toward Andrews 37h grind. The lift is a little high but seems good for my stock compression. The other Andrews 26 may be better for low torque but would like the upper band to pull well. So these 3 are my choices and the Andrews are a but cheaper but still a good cam.

Andrews 37 lift is not "high" at all for a 103". The specs are virtually identical to the 57s except for the lift, and those 57s were designed for the 103"s - would be my personal choice.

I put a crane 310-2 505 lift cam in my 96 ci street bob . I changed out the clutch spring for the S.E. unit. Best 30 bucks I have ever spent . Clutch engagement way more positive now. If your going to do your cam , you might as well spend the extra 30 bucks and get a better clutch spring. It was a little stiff at first but I don't notice it at all anymore. Really enjoy the positive feel of the clutch engaging now.
