Default Rear Wheel Jack Stand

I recently sold my superbike and bought a 2012 Fat Bob. I used to lift the superbike with a rear wheel stand and I wonder if I can use it to lift my Fat Bob with it. The contact points in the jack stand have rubber bumpers and fit the Fat Bob axle without issues. The thing is that I have never seen a Dyna or in fact any HD on a rear wheel stand. Would there be any problem in doing this? These stands have a weight capacity of approx. 350 kg or 750 lbs. That is the total weight of my Dyna and we are just lifting the rear portion of the bike.

Appreciate comments.

Shouldn't be any problems if every thing clears OK.

I would use with caution. If a 400lb sport bike start to go when you are lifting it, catching it is relatively easy. But catching a 700lb harley is a bit harder.

If I was to use it, I would do so in conjunction with a wheel chock to help balance the bike upright prior to lifting the rear wheel... I use a wheel chock with a low profile scissor jack all the time and the bike is stable (I do tie the front end down to make sure it's tight in the chock)...

I got pit bull stands the rear stand that style has the hooks for swingarm spools and it can be flipped to use rubber pads to tighten and lift under the swingarm..I might give it a try

Please let us know how it worked. I tried with my son but he couldn't do it and I just came out of a back surgery so I cannot do many things for a while. Send pics.

I've never thought about using one on a HD, sounds interesting. I would like to know how it goes as well. Pics would be cool.

This is how I use mine. The pitbull stands are great since they seem to work with every bike Ive ever had. The only issue I had was my exhaust comes back very far and the pitbull only catches on the last couple inches of the swingarm. either way, it works for me and this is how I lift it for the winter too so the rear tire doesnt flatspot.

I thought about that many times; just never did anything to see if it would work.

If it is rated enough to handle the weight and you can get it secured then give it a try and let us know.
Make sure you have help just in case.
